Swati Kommu is a gentle and skilled physical therapist serving the community of New York City. She currently sees her patients at Chung Ying Physical Therapy & Acupuncture. In addition to her professional career, Dr. Kummo is a strong advocate for the under-served communities. Over the years, she participated in several community services providing pro bono physical therapy services and care to undernourished children, anemic women in India, and the geriatric population.
Dr. Kommu received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Loma Linda University. From her extensive training in physical therapy, Dr. Kommu is well-versed in manual therapy, electrotherapy, Kinesiotaping & vestibular rehabilitation, myofascial release, Maitland and Mulliigan mobilizations, and adult Bobath approach.
Dr. Kommu is experienced in delivering skilled manual therapy techniques for different group of patients with mainly musculoskeletal disorders and conditions. Patients often come see her for complaints such as arthritis, muscle strains, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, spinal cord injuries, neuralgias, and vertigo. Dr. Kommu is also skilled at post-surgical rehabilitation and stroke rehabilitation. Over the course of her professional career, she has successfully helped numerous patients on their road to recovery.
